Battleships of Argentina

Although Argentina never built any battleships of its own, it did buy a number of battleships from Britain and the USA.

Battleships Commissioned in the 1800s

ARA Almirante Brown - Central battery ironclad, built in London, England.

Libertad class - Coastal battleships built in England by Cammell Laird in the 1890s. The Argentinian navy classified them as "Riverine Battleships".

Battleships Commissioned in the 1900s

Rivadavia class - Ordered in response to the Brazilian navy's dreadnought programme, the Rivadavia class were dreadnoughts built in the USA.
