Sold for scrap, 8 February 1956.

A.R.A. Rivadavia was built for Brazil in the USA by the Fore River Shipbuilding Corporation (who were awarded the contract after a controversial bidding process) and was commissioned on 27 August 1914. She was later also refitted in the United States in 1924-25.

A.R.A. Rivadavia spent most of her career in port or taking part in training exercises and took no part in the Second World War.

Stricken on 1 February 1957 and sold for scrap later in the year. She was finally broken up in Genoa, Italy in 1959.
